I keep meaning to post and never having the time (sharing the computer with a Lauren who's discovered My Little Pony roleplaying on Quotev and like me is also addicted to Neopets (nine months and I have over eight million NP; why can't they be real money, lol) is challenging.

Is it September yet?

Of course, then my baby moves out. We've found her and her BFF who lives in Newfoundland (used to live here that's how she knows E; they were at school together for years) and is doing the same course as Eleanor a lovely basement appt just minutes from Sheridan. Gorgeous huge house and garden in a quiet cul-de-sac and the basement is light, airy, really big and beautifully clean. I'm making lists, raiding the basement for things she can take, organizing the move but though I'm so happy she's close (it's about 50 mins away) and doing something she loves, the thought of her not being here is just awful.

I was cheered up (and simultaneously appalled) by the discovery that the semesters are Sept to mid Dec, Jan to mid April. SEVEN MONTHS. Say what? In my day, we worked til June. Maybe that's why English degrees are three years and North American ones are four? Same time spent working but spread out more?

Wrist is healing. Still numb and tingly in places and there's a hard lump there though under the surface not sticking up, but the scabs are all off and I'm using Bio oil on it to fade the marks. It doesn't look quite so Frankenstein's monster now :-)

David got back from California today (business trip) and he's yawning which is making me yawn so I'm off to bed.

No more Keyquest games. No, siree.

Congrats to E on the apartment! It sounds really lovely. Since you're a lot closer than Newfoundland, expect to have an extra daughter. ;-)

WTF on the semesters? In the US, they're late August to mid-December, and January through May. 16 weeks of classes.

Ah, big adjustment coming for you both. It was weird when I went off to college: I'd already been away from home for the very first time for a five-week Symphony School, and I only had a couple of days at home before leaving again. Just enough time to do laundry and celebrate my 18th birthday. And my parents had already shifted furniture around. THEY TOOK MY BED! LOL. So I ended up in what had once been my brother's bedroom, sleeping in what had for years been my parent's bed. Very weird.

And then I was five hours away at school, so I didn't come home again until late November for Thanksgiving! I was majorly homesick...
