I decided to do the taxes today. Put in the CD, got my paperwork all ready...and the doorbell rang. My friend and her daughter, popping in for coffee. Abandoning the taxes in a heartbeat with great reluctance,I put on a pot of coffee, figuring the caffeine would give me the energy I needed. An hour later, I started again, only to come to a screeching halt as I couldn't find the children's SINs. Had to load up last year's tax return in the end. Then I put E's dob in wrong. Then it stopped being easy and started being complicated with RRSPs and stuff. Then I decided, damn it all, David could help and abandoned it again. Well, that was a waste of time when I could have been reading or writing.
Odd thing; in the olden days (fifty years ago at least ;-)) they said 'This is waste of time', not 'This is a waste of time'. Just thought I'd share that.
My friend was asking; she has no computer but wants to set up an email account so she can send/read email on the library computer. I've never used any free email providers; anyone got any recommends? Is it easy/free? Or are there hidden costs and such? I was thinking hotmail or yahoo?
ETA; thanks for all the advice! ::hugs:: Think I can get her sorted out easily enough then.
