How the other half live

It's Take Your Child to Work Day and Lauren has gone into work with David. Instead of a leisurely 8.30 to 2.30 with an hour lunch, she's in for an eight to five thirty day.

When Eleanor did it in Gr 9, she was horrified, lol.

It's a big company and they always take it very seriously, with activities planned and giveaways and such so she should have fun. She'll get to go in labs and do experiments and such (David works in aerospace and satellites).

Do they do it today in the US too?

It does exist in the US. Who takes part in it, I think, has more to do with the culture of the company. I think it is super awesome David brings his girls to work in his STEM-oriented field! Even though I know Eleanor is artsy, not science-y. :-)

She had masses of fun; and she helped. David's whiteboard had blue writing on he couldn't erase no matter what he tried and she wrote over it with another marker, erased that and took the old blue off with it. genius!
