Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] deborahmm! Hope it's a good one ::hugs::

OK, some brief thoughts on Angel last night so I'll vanish behind the cut. Episode spoilers and promo spoilers.

All jumbled up thoughts though.

Body language; Angel and Spike were mirroring each other the whole episode, especially at the end as they both watched Marcus leave. Maybe they merge essences (not like that. Well, not that I'd mind) and become a super, souled vamp in the last episode. Heh.

Angel's Avengers. Snerk.

Smurf. Died laughing.

But then stopped. Why was Illyria played for laughs last night? Why did her mournful bitterness go on just a fraction too long and become parody? That cheapens Fred's death for me. Illyria is revealed as essentially powerless. It was All For Nothing. Well, maybe that's angsty but it's meh too. And funny though the shrimp bit was, again, too silly for her.

Contrast the continual night of Wes/Illyria's scenes and the continual sun of Lindsey's world...both hells? Maybe, but there's some hope in Wesley's, especially now Illyria's said 'we' not 'you'. Loved Wesley putting her down when she said she was human. You tell her, Wes. These ex-gods and their delusions of grandeur...

And how freaked am I by the fact that my road/house looks sort of similar to where Lindsey lives, if not quite so clone-like? ::grin::

Illyria grabbed Wes by the neck. He did that to Lilah in the bar...

Lindsey's an expert on the SP? My reaction to that, 'Since when?' followed by, 'Whatever'. Not a huge Lindsey fan. Nor Connor (don't hate me, flist) so not thrilled to see him back, but it needs to be addressed, so I'm happy that they're doing it. Just...not wild about him.

Marcus. Squee.

They have to save Gunn. They can't leave him there. Leave Eve. Doubt she feels any guilt, so she'd never have to go in the woodshed, umm, basement.
