Eleanor's award winning short film up on YT!

Hi all, been forever since I posted but wanted to share this news.

Eleanor graduated Seneca this year and her final project there, which took all year, was making a 4 minute animated film, with a team. It was her concept and she directed.

It's gone on to win awards at film festivals across Canada and it's now live on YT.
Eleanor's currently working at Yowza Animation in Toronto, sharing an apartment with her sister Lauren, who's in her second year at the University of Toronto studding Classics (Greek and Roman lit and archeology.

Drawn to You

Young Emily didn’t see anything wrong with her drawing of two girls holding hands, but her mother saw otherwise and tore both the paper and her child’s heart in two. Little did they know, the drawings had come alive and are determined to reunite with one another across the vast bedroom of pages, no matter what risk comes their way. An adventurous and heartwarming tale, “Drawn to You” shows audiences both the struggles and joy that comes with being true to your heart, and not letting others tell you who to be.

Thank you! They're both doing so well and I'm so proud of them. They're close enough to come home often too (well, we have the cats so they have to :-))

Thank you! I was amazed how long it takes to do even a few minutes of animation; it's hugely labor-intensive but so rewarding.

That is amazing. I do so admire her creativity! And congratulations to her on the well-deserved awards! (Though I couldn't help but wonder what the mother is going to think when she comes in and sees the 'reunited' picture.)

Heh, good point! I guess she'd assume Emily redrew it rather than suspecting magic :-)

And as you see in the credits, she changes her mind so all is well.

I was just panicking in case people thought the mom was me, but Eleanor pointed out that the Davitt family is thanked in the credits and most of the people working on the film have met me and know I'm awesome ::g::
