To my adorable
flowery_twat whom I've met in person and can therefore say with total conviction is cuddly, lovely, sweet and funny. ::snuggles and smooches:: Plus she sent me pictures of wine gums from home. Have the best birthday ever. Have a pomegranate. Have two ::grin::
In other news, I've been reading the new Tanya Huff, 'Smoke and Shadows' set in the Bllod pact 'verse but concentrating on Tony, who is, and I'd forgotten this as it's been a while since I read them, the gay human lover of a male vampire. Somehow that appeals to me, can't imagine why ;-)
As ever, very readable and fun and the Buffy references abound. The plot itself felt a little like a Barbara Hambly in places. I love this series and the shift to Tony works well.
I'm half way into a new author for me, 'Dead Witch Walking' by Kim Harrison. It's good so far; described as a mix of Anita Blake and Stephanie Plum which seems to be accurate enough, though it'd annoy me to have my OC described that way I think. Hmm.
The turtle has gone.
I watched my second episode commentary from S6; bargaining one and two. Marti Noxon and David Fury who were mostly very, very dull. I don't care that Anya had Buffy hair or Joss' sexual prowess is big (don't ask). I do care that when they were talking about Giles going, they dismissively said something about him not appealing to the demographic anyway, just being a stable adult influence.
A red mist descended and I took an extra large gulp of cider and choked, so maybe I should listen to it again, but the impression I got was that we were all too busy drooling over washboard abs and cheekbones to care if Giles went because he was old and therefore not hot. A world of wrong, you silly, silly people. And it nearly killed me with him not being in the credits :;sob::
