First Happy Birthday to three people who will never see this. My dad, my niece and a rl friend in the UK.
OK, that was fairly pointless but still ::sings Happy Birthday virtually, pitch-perfect, in tune with trills instead of my usual flat drone::
Second - don't hate me but LJ was a pain last night, so I left it to stew, and now I've come to LJ to find masses of comments to my last post and I don't have time to answer them individually as I usually do. David left at 6.00 a.m so I'm tired from alarm clocks going off at 5.15 :;shudder:: which isn't helping.
ETA; think I've answered them all now. Sorry it took a while.
Just - grateful thanks to everyone who was kind. :;hugs you all:: Silly of me to even bother mentioning that comment but I was a tad pissed off, mostly because of the typos comment. You try typing with two cats sitting on the keyboard and a toddler yanking at your arm, mate.
'Cutsey smut with spanking' I sort of like though...maybe I could make an icon with that on it. Hmm ;-)
Anyway, calm has returned with the morning.
And really, you don't like me/my fics/my LJ? Defriend me. Stop reading. I won't mind at all and you'll be happier. I'll close my eyes and you can tiptoe away and I won't say a word.
I'm all for improving my fics, being more aware of their shortcomings than anyone else, which is why I smooch people who give critical feedback with passion and much use of my tongue, but I can't change the feel of them, or the subject matter. Well, I could stop writing the odd spanking, d/s style fics, and if OOC means slash, I could stop writing that - but I'm not going to. So don't hang around waiting for me to change back to het or gen (though I still write both from time to time), or see the error of my ways. Lecture me on dodgy comma use, shifting POVs, fuzzy plots and overuse of adverbs and I'll stare adoringly at you - but don't whine that I'm not All About the Angst or the fact I don't do d/s by the book (if there is one) and expect me to leap to attention. Just not going to happen.
