Follow up to the Bell ad

I just had an article forwarded to me (thanks claudia_yvr!) about that awful Bell ad I mentioned a few weeks ago.

Seems it provoked such a lot of outrage that it's been dropped and all who complained are getting an apology.

Haven't had one yet, but it's enough to know it's been cancelled.

Secret Shame meme

I'm not sure I'm doing this right... and I very much doubt any of it's secret, but here goes.

I'm not at all ashamed of starting out as a Spike/Buffy or nothing 'shipper but I did once have Spike go down on a Buffy who tasted of vanilla and honey :;hangs head:: I've since edited it out because I would've if I'd found a typo or dodgy code and that's equally culpable IMO.

Unless Spike had become adventurous and moved beyond whipped cream, she's not going to have tasted like that. Because even if her bodywash was that flavour and she hadn't rinsed, she'd have tasted of soap and that's not nice.

I also wrote the most pretentious ficlet ever in my first months writing fanfic, although I didn't intend it to be. I should just delete it but I'm too much of a completist for that so there it is, in all its acrostic glory ::facepalm::

The second half of this seems to be BPKs.

Spanking, in the library, with Giles and Wesley, or Giles and Wesley and this really isn't a secret is it?

Umm.


Daddy kink doesn't do much for me in general but a teacher/student theme gets me every time. Which is why I slash Giles with the Scoobies, especially Xander and Willow, at the drop of a hat. Linked to that is a real yen for older man with younger man/woman.

David, who shouldn't really have an opinion, as the last time he read any of my fic I was still writing G rated gen, says I like characters getting angry. I think that's over-simplifying it, but I love fics where something happens to make something else allowable that wouldn't normally be. Or someone usually in control, losing control.

Penitence. Yes. Someone making up for whatever they've done by saying, here, I'm sorry, do what you like until we're quits. Giving up whatever power they have, bending their head and silently waiting. Which comes into several of my G/X fics, Behind Closed Doors and Secretary. In rl, it's not something I'd do or advocate as a way of dealing, but in fic? Oh yes.

And, going back to the angry, and so very cliched I am ashamed to admit it, but two people yelling, in each other's face screaming and suddenly grabbing and kissing and fucking on the spot. Mm.

One person naked, one person clothed, in a situation where nudity isn't appropriate. Again, this comes into a lot of my fics.

Books. Get a book in the fic and I'm happy.

Sex in libraries is tied into the whole, have to be quiet because people are close, can't be caught deal and you're so close to yelling that whoever you're with has to gag you with their hand across your mouth, between your teeth, for you to bite down on...

It's really difficult to pin these down and articulate them.

But there we are. That's some of them.
