Here's part three of this co-written fic which ::peeks at the end:; might sort of end at a bad place, but it's nearly 5,000 words and we have to stop somewhere!

Thanks to all who've been commenting - and I mean all. I've been enjoying the discussions with the readers who aren't totally happy with the fic as well as the feedback from those who are, because it's always good to get the chance to explain story choices but usually no one cares; they just want to read it ::g:: So thanks.

Previous parts are here

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] kallysten! I'm wishing you all good, sparkly things! ::love and hugs::

We're just back from Chapters; why did no one tell me the new Diana Gabaldon book was out? ::accusing stare:; I didn't buy it though; on the Chapters website, with my discount card, it was around $26; in the shop $40. I nabbed an assistant and demanded to know the whys and wherefores and she said that the webpage was separate. Okay, I said, but you always knock 30% off the best sellers; what gives? She said -- wait for it -- it's only just come out, so it's not a best seller yet .

This is Diana Gabaldon, they had a huge display of her books as you walked in, and the author is coming to sign copies very soon. It's impossible for it not to be a best seller and I'm damned if I'm paying $14 more for it.

So there.

Supernatural was great; really do think it's found its stride and, okay I'll duck behind a cut...

Supernatural spoilers for the plane one )
This popped into my head when I was doing the drabble about Zelenka not feeling at home. No spoilers.

Stray Cat

There's no mud in sight, and his boots are clean, but he feels as if he's tracking dirt everywhere.

The bed they've given him is soft. Too soft.

The water he washes in is hot. Too hot.

The food is soft and hot and his teeth ache for the stringy tug of meat, cool and bloody.

They all look at him, too.

He's about to leave when Weir announces: "We have an alien in the city. It's killed two people. Stay where you are --"

And he's moving fast, running, through the corridors of a place that suddenly feels like home.
