Birthdays and Recs

Just got back from running some errands, including buying the new HP, natch, and realised I'd arranged it so I'd be back in time to watch MacGyver.

Oh dear. Another show to watch. It's not that good. I know that. The white socks alone... And I didn't watch it when it aired which would make a huge difference. And he's not Jack (and kudos to RDA because he really does play them differently) and, like ASH, the older he gets the more I lust. But even so, I'm going to leave this entry half-written and vanish to watch it in three minutes.

First a book; 'Disappearing Nightly' by Laura Resnick, which is a fun blend of mystery, humour and fantasy in our world.

And fic:

sidlj has written a wonderfully handled Jack/Daniel fic about Daniel recovering from rape (not graphic and not on-screen). Someday

And the day got off to a great start with a series of short, perfectly observed ficlets from Jack's POV from kellifer_fic. Elementariness They're not exactly slashy but Jack's protectiveness for Daniel (and the consequences) comes over beautifully and the team ones are spot-on.

Back; MacGyver wore a black knitted hat, just like Jack for most of the episode and there was hair ruffling of Pete :;dies::

Oh, you bloody gits...

Just discovered that the new Harry Potter movie which I grabbed in widescreen without a second thought, is a one disc version with no extras. None.

You need to buy the 2 disc one to get them.

They've never done this before and I feel well and truly annoyed. Eleanor is upset, I doubt we can take it back now it's been opened and just what the hell do they think they're playing at?

Anyway; just passing it along to save anyone else getting conned.

SG-1 Ficlet 'Serving False Gods' Jack/Daniel

Inspired by this icon by brandinsbabe and the discussion of that scene with jenlev I wrote a small fragment of a fic to go with it.

And I did a clip of the relevant bit, from Serpent's Song 2.17, the one where Apophis asks for sanctuary, and we get a glimpse of the scariest Daniel ever, so you know what it's based on.
