Happy Birthdays to [livejournal.com profile] circe_tigana and [livejournal.com profile] wraith816! Hope you both have wonderful days and that the party goes on way past midnight. ::hugs and love::

Just trying to get back to normal here; Pat and Colin fly home later today and we're in the middle of packing and unpacking and such.

Is Jim's spirit guide generally referred to as a panther or a jaguar? Stupid question, I know, but I've seen both used...

In Flight, Jim says there's been a panther following them...

Saw this with the kida in Ottawa and although it seems to have got slated, I loved it.

So there.

I'm a total pushover for Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller together (Zoolander. God, I love that movie :-)) and here we have a teeny tiny cowboy Owen with an equally tiny Roman general Steve Coogan and much chemistry plus, just to make me feel less of an automatic slasher seeing it where it doesn't exist, a Brokeback reference at a crucial point between Jed and Octavius which had David and me snickering and me feeling vindicated.

Thought Lauren might be a little scared by the T Rex, but she wasn't.

David's just left to take his parents to the airport and I'm hoping I can stay awake to midnight...

I was going to sort out how many fics, which pairings and all that but it would take a while and I'm not in the mood.

126 fics, about 35 are The Sentinel, the rest are mostly SG-1 with a sprinkling of SGA, Supernatural and some crossovers.

This was the year I found a new fandom (The Sentinel) and toyed with some others which didn't take enough to make me want to/feel able to write them (Farscape, Bones, House, Desperate Housewives, BSG) while still not wanting to miss them and enjoying watching them.

2006 was the year I was published as [livejournal.com profile] wesleysgirl and I had our first John and Nick book, 'Laying a Ghost' get published by Loose Id. The sequel, 'Giving up the Ghost' is due out on March 20th, I think. And my first solo novel, 'Drawing Closer' will be published by Torquere in February but I'm looking forward, not back, aren't I?

And why not.

That's what this cusp of a day is for.

It's been the year I got to see my brother again after 18 years apart. He's now, temporarily, living down the hill from me here in Canada, which is... yeah, kind of freaky. Philip is in Australia, on the other end of a phone or email, not right there in a house I drive past all the time. Can't get my head around that :-)

It just goes to show that people float away but some are tethered to you. Long tethers, but strong ones.

I don't think I was involved in many kerfuffles this year, and I wasn't mentioned once on f-w so go me :-)

I've made new friends :;waves:: and kept most of my old ones ::clings:: and met some lovely, interesting people wherever I've ventured.

I end the year as I began it, with a healthy, happy family I love and who love me and this place to come to when they drive me mad ::g::

I feel very lucky and believe me, I don't take it for granted.

Wishing all of you the very best for the upcoming year.

Let's hope 2007 is good for all of us.

::hugs::
