Happy Birthday
moss6886! Hope you're having a great day and it just gets better :;hugs::
In one of those rush around moods; did my library volunteering this morning, gorgeous day so I have to go and weed the border as you can't trust that it'll stay that way (T-shirt today, yesterday I had the heating on and was wearing a fleece top).
Brief pause to say first, Sentinel fans should check out some stunning icons (I'm using one here) by
scientistsdisco.
And second, the Hyatt staff and Romantic Times themselves ought to be ashamed of themselves for the way the m/m publishers were treated at the recent Houston con. We're sheltered on LJ to a certain extent; by and large, there's a vast tolerance and acceptance here that I find reassuring and comforting.
But it's not representative of the world outside and when that's brought home to me, when I read accounts like this, and that's not an isolated occurence, but happened to other m/m publishers there, too, it leaves me depressed and angry.
Injustice, double standards, prejudice and unfairness.
And, more prosaically, a failure to deliver what was paid for.
I wish I could think the Hyatt management would reply with profuse apologies but I won't hold my breath.
And Romantic Times need to stop taking money from people with a smile and then spitting in their faces when it's safely tucked in their back pocket.
ETA Ironically, the website for the hotel has a page on how diverse and tolerant they are on gay/racial/age-related issue:

Actions speak louder.
