Point of Contact is not behaving (I need Simon to spank it) so I've temporarily abandoned it (I mean for a day or two, that's all) and started my Moonridge fic. It's amazing how much fun it is starting something new when you're stuck on something else.
Of course, I'm stuck on about four something elses...
There are about 2,500 words of PoC 15 done so it's not entirely an unproductive week but sheesh, there shoudl be more than that! I got totally bogged down in silly details like describing the setting and exactly where and how Blair is in relation to where Jim's sitting. I want to get on with telling the story and I realised how spoiled I am when I set fics in the loft; because you don't need to describe that, or only in broad strokes.
Not that the loft is static; I mean, Jim's bed changes position, but it's rare that the original position gets mentioned in fic because against the railings is so much better smut-wise.
Are there any fics about him moving it and why? I like to think it's so he can tie Blair to it and ravish him (or vice-versa) but I'm interested in any reasons (beyond the mundane one that it filmed better that way). Because it's a weird place for it; don't his pillows fall through the bars? And they're not comfortable to lean against. Maybe Jim doesn't read in bed?
And when exactly does it swap from wall to railing? Between S1 and S2?
I'm spamming randomly; must be Friday.
