David's developed this habit of leaping up from the couch as soon as the SPN credits roll and grabbing the computer to play Civ. I have it all day, so that's perfectly fair, but it means by the time I post about the episode it's all been said in eloquent detail :-)
But just because...
CREEPY KIDS! Eesh. As a mother, the rattling the bathroom door scene really got to me because that is just what kids do. It's not that exaggerated. Show me a mother who hasn't sat there on the loo and called out passionately, 'go away!' to a child demanding juice or whatnot.
Of course, they don't usually want to suck your life force but eh, it can feel that way.
Notice how I'm skipping over the start which was so gruesome I looked away. I can't help think Raoul will approve :-)
I liked Dean's might-be son but, dude, saying 'awesome' isn't genetic. And that was one big, expensive house in a gated community for a single mother with a kid whose dad was a biker. What does she do? I want that job.
It's amazing how tense I was until the boys knew about what was going on and how I relaxed after they did.
Really liked the woman playing creepy girl kid's mom. She did a wonderful job.
Demon girl. Eh. I didn't like her all the way through (the food stealing and the attitude... I don't like bad manners) but once her eyes turned black I felt better because, hello: demon. Supposed to be annoying. But a little of her being condescending goes a long way. I do like the notion that there's in-fighting and squabbling amongst the demons; that's pretty believable really.
I think the season's getting off to a slow start and some of the scenes in this went on too long (the one in the house looking for the kids dragged and dragged) but overall, I'm happy enough.
