Eleanor's just done her first Ouran High School vid and I said I'd mention it here as I know some of you are anime fans.
It's on You Tube here : Butterfly.
Any con-crit would be very welcome, I'm sure. She's very keen on vidding and icons. And tomorrow she turns 13 and can get her own You Tube account :-)

David, who left for England last Monday, is coming home tonight. Yay! The Toronto airport site had me whimpering by plastering a huge 'DELAYED' next to his flight but when I'd blinked away the tears I saw that instead of getting in at 18.03, it'll be 18.06.
OMG, DO NOT DO THAT TO ME, AIRPORT. THREE MINUTES DOES NOT COUNT.
Also, it's a beautiful day, warm, not humid, blue, blue sky. I actually went to stand in the garden in the long grass and admired the weeds in the border for a while as I absently deadheaded some marigolds in a pot.
I stayed up last night and finished a 7,000 word story for an upcoming Torquere Toy Box collection with the theme of paddles. Not the kind you row with, but I'm thinking you all knew that, right? I've got two more novellas to write this year, which will be coming out in '09, and then my total pro writing for 2008 will be
Two novels (one solo, one with WG)
Three novellas
Three short stories
That's pretty good for me.
I'm staring dubiously at an all dialog tag fic for The Shrine. I had to write it to siphon off some of the squee before I burst, but I'm not sure it's really working and yet I keep going back to it and twiddling it. Maybe it'd work better not all dialog but I can't visualize it that way now. It isn't like me to dither; I write it, post it, move on. The very fact that I'm hesitating is reinforcing the urge to click 'delete' and then I try and my finger freezes.
Speaking of freezing, the salvaging of the hard drive hit a bump; I can't get the power cord to fit it anymore. It's not that the hard drive was warped in the freezer; I studied the end of the lead and the little prongs in it look bent. I tried to straighten them (using a wooden skewer as it's plugged in at the other end) and got nowhere. Maybe there's another one that fits somewhere, or perhaps David can unbend them...
And, as I mention every hour or so, this time next week, the girls will be back in school.
Is it next Tuesday yet?

Episode 1.10 of Burn Notice has Lucy Lawless AND Anthony Starke guest starring :;settles in::
And although the TWoP reviewer doesn't like her, I kind of love Fi. She's so cheerfully amoral. Not wild about the whole IRA past but as she is now, she's charmingly violent.
I'm not sure what that says about me. Moving on...

I was feeling in a graphic-y mood so I made a banner for one of my favorite fics,
tbrook's The Eighth Day.
I like making story banners; it's fun finding images to suit the fic. I must do a couple for some of my longer fics as a break from writing now and then.
