Mum's going down to the wreath laying at the memorial by the library. I have to go into school to volunteer (I prepare food for Nutrition for Learning once a week, providing breakfasts to kids who would otherwise start the day hungry. It's depressing that there are around 40 every day).
I'll get to be there when the school notes the occasion though, which will be nice. It's good to see my daughters wearing their poppies and being aware of the reason why. Eleanor's school was honored last year by a visit from a survivor of the concentration camps who spoke to them very movingly and left a real impression on her.
I just hope my poppy stays on. I'm on my third one; I keep buying them, they keep falling off my coat. Even the sticky label one I tried in desperation as an alternative to one with a pin disappeared from my lapel.
