Six o' clock. Woke thinking I'd heard knocking. lay there. More faint knocking. Lauren with a nightmare? Cats? No, it was the front door. I nudged David, then heard it again and stumbled out of bed grabbing my robe but not bothering with my glasses, and hurried downstairs.
Maybe too much hurrying; totally missed the last three steps and ended up flat on my face muttering a word that I couldn't hiss because it had no s in it. Bent big toe and one next to it back. Agony. Limped to door, opened it. Man says, "Is Dave there?"
"In bed!"
"We're going ice fishing."
"That's Sunday!"
"It's Saturday."
David appeared at this point and I hobbled back to bed brain fuzzy. Quick check of emails and David realized, yes, it was today he was supposed to be fishing at Lake Simcoe. I got up again, did more hobbling and put together some food and drink for him, waved him off, then went back to bed.
Only to be woken by a telesales call at 9.15. Snarled at her then came downstairs to watch the Stoke game with a bag of snow on my toe. It's swollen and hot but I can wiggle it.
Was going to get the food shopping done but I don't think that's going to happen.
