Happy Birthday to spikedluv! Hope you get all you wish for and more :;hugs::

I'm going afk ::gasp:: until the kitchen is cleaned. Even by my lax and laid back standards, it's a tip and the floor is filthy. I can see it out of the corner of my eye as I type and someone spilled juice and there's this smear where they wiped it up but not very well so it's dried all smudged.

Which, yes, is where the soon to be smut free comes in ;-)

I need to write but I don't have a feeling of urgency. I should have; still got several deadlines approaching, but somehow I don't. Must finish G/W fic though. It just needs a few hundred words adding on but I tried last night and couldn't make them work. That's ended up at 6,000 plus. I can do drabbles, but I've lost the knack of proper ficathon fics, which should, or always used to be, a thousand words. Too easy and tempting to just keep going now the rules have been relaxed, and often the requests don't lend themselves to a short fic (and 1,000 isn't much) because they open up so many interesting possibilities.

I'm writing a Giles/Spike essay for ship_manifesto and finding it fascinating to work out why a pairing appeals instead of just thinking about it and going, 'Guh!'. Not going to be just about the appeal of course, but that's a good starting point...and, in the interests of research, I'm going to have to go and and read as much G/S as I can to see if I can spot trends ::looks industrious and studious::

I'm also quivering at the leash waiting to start work on the ats_nolimits script soon. Going to be so much fun writing with justhuman and the organisation behind the scenes is incredible.
