First, many happy returns to [livejournal.com profile] bailunrui and [livejournal.com profile] spren_cious! Hope it's a wonderful day all through ::hugs you::

Yesterday was hectic; Lauren had her first day at JK and I came perilously close to sniffling as she climbed up into the bus, holding onto Eleanor's hand. I whizzed over to the school and was there when she got off and took her to her classroom. Then got back home and, to add to the general freak and the unease because she hadn't done a wee (eek!) I discovered I'd forgotten to pack her (carefully labelled) indoor shoes.

Marked from the start as having a Bad Mother.

Luckily she has a teacher E had so I knew her and I'm sure she wouldn't have minded especially as it was dry and sunny so the outdoor shoes were clean.

Mum and Dad arrived at 7.30; very tired of course, but the flight went well.

And I was really brave last night; a daddy long legs came in the house and I caught it in a tea towel and shook it back outside. As a child they were my nightmare; they would fly in in the summer evenings (no screens on windows in the UK) and come at me, all sprawly legs and floaty...::shiver:: I'd end up in the corner, hysterical and gibbering.

So I felt very proud of myself - then realised that as I wasn't at all frightened of them any more, I hadn't been brave.

::sulks::
