Busy, busy, eep. Car, stupid, ungrateful car, died again at the traffic lights today, this time with David driving. It started again straight away but earlier in the week it did what it did when
wolfling was visiting and wouldn't turn over for ages. I went into a hissy fit, using my Writer's Vivid Imagination to paint a harrowing picture of us stranded in an intersection in winter, a truck coming towards us, unable to stop on the ice, skidding in the slush...and it's going into the garage tomorrow.
Seriously, it's freaking me. We keep doing things but the only way we know if they've worked is if the car doesn't break again. That's no good.
David is inexplicably excited over Star Wars coming out tomorrow and insisting that we buy it. I'm wanting to see it on our Big T.V (as are, apparently, a lot of our friends...) but not jump up and down squee-ey. I blame Jar Jar Binks for this.
I'm very happy to see
nwhepcat has posted more of her wonderful Wes/Xander fic today, and I'm also here to rec a fic I beta read by
avrelia
http://www.livejournal.com/users/avrelia/43225.html?style=mine#cutid1
It's for the Tales of the Slayer ficathon and she's drawn on her Russian heritage for the setting which gives it a really authentic feel. It's not complete but it's a really intriguing start and I love her Slayer; so much dry humour as she deals with her English Watcher.
I'm still pretty much blocked for anything that isn't
secretary_rpg. Didn't even do a Sunday drabble...It occurs to me that if you're not reading Secretary, you might think I've pretty much stopped writing. No. I'm doing 1-2,000 words a day on that, that's all. It's now officially huge. 184 chapters, 260,000 words.
If you want to start reading it but were scared, the user info page now has a link to the first chapter, which was sort of buried.

And - which I just found out today - at the top of the page there's a green arrow you click to go to the next chapter I honestly didn't see it and was fretting that people would have to keep searching for chapter two, three, etc... ::facepalm::
And now, just as I copy and pasted this I noticed for the first time ever that the Ctrl + C commands are written next to the word 'copy' in the drop down menu along with others I didn't know, like Ctrl X for cut...OK, COMPUTER STOP MAKING ME FEEL STUPID ::sobs::
