Eleanor just came home with an A+ on her adjective test - which was very nice. She had twelve sentences and had to circle the adjectives in each. She missed three out of 40 odd (apparently she was still one of the best in the class as I'd expect an A+ to be just for perfect but whatever.)
This sentence really had me baffled though:
One sunny day, the old man found a small, grey puppy sitting on his plastic chair.
E circled five adjectives; turns out there were six.
I would've circled five too.
I feel really panicky now; if I can't get them right, how can I help her? Sheesh.
This one too
Carol had four more dolls than her older sister Monica
There are three in that; I'd have gone for two, as E did.
Did they change the rules on me? I can sort of see the logic, but not instinctively, you know?
ETA Sorry; shouldn't have made y'all guess ::g:: In the first sentence the missing adjective is 'one', in the second it's 'more'.
