As I was scribbling away madly at my essay for 'That Vision Thing' it occurred to me; when exactly does Wesley's leadership of the group fade away? He takes over when Angel goes dark, but by the time he leaves with Connor, it's not really clear-cut that he's the leader and on moving to Wolfram & Hart Angel's right back in the driving seat.
Did the events of 'Billy' signal the shift and weaken Wesley's confidence? Or was it just a gradual re-assertion of the natural order?
Been a funny day; I'm feeling a little better but I had a really disturbed night thanks to one hell of a storm. It was directly overhead, with the lightening and the thunder almost simultaneous and they just didn't stop. Flash/crash over and over and over. Never heard thunder so loud and what it was like outside I don't know. Unbelievably the kids slept through and David missed most of it, waking only when a really spectacular thunderclap was too much for even him to ignore.
We woke very late to grey skies and unseasonable heat in the high 60s, and had to rush out to a Halloween themed farm, paid for by David's employers. It was soggy hay bales and tatty buildings all the way but the kids loved it. We lost them briefly in the corn maze but all was well ;-) We were still in a rush as E had a ballet rehearsal and when it started to rain heavily we left. The rain continued as we went food shopping - then we emerged from Zehrs to brilliant sun and blue skies. Shirtsleeve weather. Crazy weather in fact...
The pumpkins are carved, we panic bought extra candy in case we run out, and now I guess we're all set.
And my friends are all back ;-)
