On November 22, 2003, I made this post

about Christmas cards and invented ficards as I did it. (Shush... if someone else did them first don't tell me). The idea was that with a large f-list I couldn't afford to mail cards (and I'd just trimmed my mailing list right down anyway so it didn't seem fair or sensible) so,

But I do love lots of you very much and I'd like to give you something so I've come up with an idea that doesn't involve stamps.

Ficards.

Reply to this post with a pairing and I'll write you a teeny tiny snippet that would fit inside a card and I'll post them here nearer to the time.

Supposed to be a tag fic in the sense it would fit on a tag. Barely a drabble.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Sorry. Had to get that out of my system.

I ended up with about 40 replies, which meant some pairings were requested by two or three people, so somehow I evolved the idea into posting a fic a day throughout December as there were, oddly enough, 24 of them. An Advent Calendar. And other people did it, and people are doing it this year and that's very neat and nifty.

But I didn't do it right. Fit in a card? On a tag? Sh'yeah, right. They were fics. Full-blown fics and once my houseguests arrived it started to be a struggle.

Can't do it this year. David's very anti the idea and although I don't usually listen when it comes to fic-writing, he's got a point. We have both sets of parents coming over from England for Christmas and my parents arrive early; mid December in fact. And I can't see Secretary being over so I'll have that to write.

Anyway. Just wanted to say.

But I still love you all and I might well crack as the carols get to me and send some cards but it's going to be a stressful enough time without me feeling the pressure of daily fics.

Aww... so many of the ficards I did had Ghost!Spike in them... guess he wasn't recorporealised back then maybe?

The ones I did and people did for me are here btw, if anyone wants to see how small I had to write to get them on the tag ;-)
