I spent an hour this morning in a cold storeroom blowing up inflatable snow saucers with a scary compressor that kept vibrating its way off the shelf when I wasn't looking. Eep. But the kids at school had such a good time on them at recess that it was worth the numb fingers and ringing in the ears. I also rescued a six-year old from a tree and fell heavily in the process - into soft snow, but still felt like a total non-starter as a helper.

Especially as she was one foot off the ground and as she yelled, 'Help, I'm stuck,' I laughed heartily and said, 'No, you're not!'.

Whereupon she burst into hysterical tears and I realised her foot was wedged between two branches...

I got Tru Calling last night; David came home and confessed he'd spent $21 on a sushi lunch and as I hissed indignantly he caved and I leapt up from the supper table and got in the car and drove through sleet and cold and really icy winds to Future Shop and snaffled it.

I watched the pilot last night and, as, I remembered it, with commentary. Bad mistake; they kept spoiling other eps so I was reduced to humming loudly with my fingers in my ears at certain points.

(Because I had a cat on my knee and the remote was out of reach, that's why before you ask why I didn't mute it!)

And all for nothing as my humming startled Talisker and he leapt off my knee and stalked away, tail twitching.

I shall watch episode two tonight; the only other one I've seen, much to my shock. I really did give up on it early.

And, after the Christmas hiatus, No Limits is back , with a great episode, airing tonight. I know it's great, because I helped a bit with the betaing and got to read it :-)
