We've just finished the final chapter of Secretary and it's been posted to [livejournal.com profile] secretary_fic.

I don't quite know what to say apart from 'thank you'.

Thank you to the readers, who've been unstinting and generous with feedback and support.

Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] cheesygirl and [livejournal.com profile] xmirax for making beautiful graphics to go with the fic.

Thank you to the three people I've spent the last eight months writing with: [livejournal.com profile] allegraslade, [livejournal.com profile] darling_effect and [livejournal.com profile] lovesbitca. You made this an experience I'm not going to forget, one I wish never had to end.

But it does, and it has, and....

[livejournal.com profile] swmbo came closest to the final word count of 661,895 and wins the four drabbles!!! Congratulations to you, Queen of the Correct Guesses! :;smooches::

As she doesn't actually read the fic she has very kindly said that she's more than willing to let [livejournal.com profile] nikitangel who came so very close to winning and got second place, and has been a tireless reader/feedbacker, to choose what the drabbles should be about.

One subject has been suggested by me, inspired by a comment [livejournal.com profile] laurelin_kit made; Faith and Anya meeting for the first time, but you can choose any four you like [livejournal.com profile] nikitangel and we'll do our best with them.

I'm going off to collapse in a corner now.

From It’s pouring rain the day of her interview to 'The End' it's been one hell of a lot of fun.

And I'm more in love with this Wesley than any other character I've ever written. Maddening, mercurial, lonely, lovable and loving - and hotter than Faith's backside when he's finished spanking it.

I've learned such a lot from the fic and my fellow authors writing this; how to write het smut, which I'd not done much before, how to plot out a book-length fic - how to write a book-length fic, writing about 1-2,000 words every day pretty much for eight straight months.

I know I can do it now. I can write a book. Hell, I have written one; a quarter of Secretary is a book by any standards. I won't be daunted by the idea any more.

Thanks for that, too.
