"Xander, do stop staring."
Xander comes close and brushes his fingertip over Giles' earlobe. "You had an earring in," he says. "At the coffee shop."
The unexpected touch, less caress than curiosity, still sends gently-lustful shivers over Giles. "Yes."
Xander's still close, his breath warm on Giles' cheek. "I can see the hole."
"Really."
"You freaked me out with the singing, you know that?"
"Did I? So sorry," Giles murmurs, striving for ironic detachment.
The slide of tongue and nip of teeth make him yelp. As he raises his hand to his stinging ear, glaring, Xander grins.
"Now we're even."
