1. Total number of books I've owned: Right now I own 3910 fiction books (I have a booklist on my computer so that's easy), plus a couple of hundred non-catalogued non-fiction. I tend not to give books away but over the years a few hundred have come and gone I suppose.
2. Last book I bought: Tricky as I bought some with my birthday money, so which one counts as the last? I got the new Laurell Hamilton, 'A Stroke of Midnight' and I've got some on order from Amazon, including a Tanya Huff vampire one I've read but want to have and a book of Firefly essays.
3. Last book read, or am currently reading: Got a few on the go at once, which I do sometimes, a mixture of new and previously read ones: 'Maurice' by E M Forster, 'Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, 'The Goodbye Body' by Joan Hess and 'Bad Move' by Linwood Barclay.
4. Books that mean a lot to me: Five? I can't pick five! 'Have Space Suit - Will Travel' by Robert Heinlein because it got me hooked on SF at 11. 'Gone With the Wind' and 'The Lord of the Rings' because they gave me two worlds to fall into. 'Anne of Green Gables' - well, all of Montgomery's books really, and the Little House books. There are just too many. Heyer, Goudge, Jane Duncan, E F Benson, D E Stevenson... I can't even pick five authors, let alone five books.
