We've started buying DVDs more now they're cheaper; renting them almost doesn't make sense if there's even the slightest chance we'll watch them again - which is probably why the kids have way more than we do.

1. Total number of films I own on DVD/video:

About 40 films on DVD. Some TV shows on DVD: Buffy/Angel/Firefly/Blackadder/Red Dwarf/Wonderfalls/Tru Calling. 35 children's DVDs and about 80 vids, mostly children's. About six music DVDs, like the Live Aid one.

2. Last film bought:

Last Friday: The World is Not Enough; a used vid at Blockbuster because it was a dollar more than renting it and I'm on a Robert Carlyle kick right now. I'd have bought The Full Monty too, but it wasn't for sale, so i had to rent that.

3. Last film that I watched:

The Full Monty.

4. Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me, in no particular order:
I'm going to do this by genre because, well, I want to.

Musical; three that I grew up watching so often I know them off by heart, Jesus Christ, Superstar, West Side Story and Camelot. None of which I own now, or the soundtracks. Must do something about that... Rocky Horror, natch, which I do have, and OMWF because it knocked my socks off and I have it on DVD, so there.

Comedy. Planes, Trains and Automobiles.Candy/Martin. Oh God. So funny. National Lampoon's Christmas and Family Vacation. This is a man who wants to dream and goes for it. Bits can choke me up, totally. Zoolander for the sublime silliness, Adventures in Babysitting because I identify with the lead.

General. Secretary because if I hadn't watched it I wouldn't have written the fic and if I hadn't done that I'd have wept. Formula 51 which I've seen about five times now and I don't give a toss how loathed it is, I love it. Life of Brian because I remember it coming out and all the fuss and we went to see it and everyone whistled at the end... LoTR and the Harry Potter movies because they took books I loved and didn't hurt them.

Drama. I'm a fluffy lightweight. Tell me a movie is powerful and disturbing or meaningful and I'll back away slowly. Same for horror.

5. Tag five people:

Anyone who wants to and hasn't. I can't keep track and I don't want to tag someone who has already :-)
