Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] crayonbreakygal! I'd send Wes over to give you a birthday spanking and then kiss it better if I could :-)

Yesterday was lots of fun. David ended up taking the whole day off, and after our trip to Chapters (picked up the Nancy Holder, 'Heat' because so many people have been talking about it, heh, and the new Tanya Huff, 'Smoke and Mirrors') we got Lauren off the school bus and went to a garden centre to get more herbs and veggies. And got bitten. Ow. I felt like complaining to the staff; you have mosquitoes in here! Do something! But realised that I was being slightly irrational and refrained...

Memo to self; don't watch an INCREDIBLY CREEPY episode of 'The Inside', read the rather gruesome, though very entertaining, trapped in a haunted house story that is 'Smoke and Mirrors' and then expect not to get freaked at bedtime. I'm so suggestible and the combo of the two had me lying awake for a while.

Loved the Tanya Huff though; it's set in the series where Tony is working on a TV vampire show and lusting after Lee, the co-star. Much slashy UST, and a little bit more in this one. Very yummy. There wasn't much of Henry in it though... It feels very much like the second book in a series, so there are loose ends, but hopefully that will get sorted out in the next one. Interested to see that Tanya Huff lives not far from me, with Fiona Patton. Not read any by her, but I'm trying to get my head around the idea of two authors living together and wondering if that'd make for more stress, or less. It's like two actors, or two policeman... you understand the stresses involved, but you're dealing with them as well, so it's easier to snap.

If David wrote we'd need another computer. Oh my, yes. In separate rooms. On separate floors. I can't write with music, as he does when he's working, and I can't write with someone standing behind me reading what I'm writing. Just the thought of it has me close to hysterical flailing ::g::
