Yesterday I picked E up from summer camp and got bitten on the back of my thigh. Hardly felt it, just a little itch, realised what it was, got back and put on some cream. Bloody thing's now the size of my palm, a red, raised welt that kept me awake all night and now I can't sit comfortably at the computer. I hate bites :-( Husband and I always have bad reactions to them. I don't mind the mini vampires taking a sip but why the after effects?
Aggrieved Impromtu Drabble
Julia looked at her friend with horror. "What happened to your _neck_?" she squeaked. "Was it Paul? Did you, you know, get friendly?"
Jessica shook her head glumly. "Paul's toast. We got attacked on the way out of the Bronze by a bunch of vampires. That weird Buffy girl came out of nowhere and killed them but it was too late for Paul and one of them had already started in on me."
Julia looked at the angry red swelling on Jessica's neck. "It looks bad," she ventured.
Jessica sighed. "Allergic to them, always have been. Didn't you know? If I hadn't had my holy water epi pen with me, it'd be two names being read out in assembly. Come on; we'll be late."
And I _did_ get an award, in the on going saga that's not really interesting even to me. I went back and highlighted the text I couldn't read as it was obscured under a Yahoo ad. I won a judge's pick award and they're not mentioned on the page because, "These are the winners of the categories that were judged, some categories didn't have enough nominees to be part of the awards. Also the winners of the judge's pick awards will be kept to ourselfs, because the last thing my judges need are a bunch of people who didn't win bugging them."
So there you go...
