Got way too much housework to write anything good but here's a mini scrap that would fit nicely inside a birthday card...
Buffy walked into the library, her eyes whipping to the suit clad man standing beside Giles. He looked...official, stuffy, so British she bet his blood was Union Jack red. So this was who the Council thought could replace her treacherous, trustworthy Giles?
"New Watcher?" she demanded, not expecting anything but a rueful 'yes'.
Giles frowned, his hand going out protectively at her harsh tone. "New boyfriend," he corrected her sternly, his hand locked in Wesley's.
Buffy gaped. "There was an old one?" she asked weakly.
The door opened. "Hi, Buffster. Giles," said Xander.
