Or, as I didn't see a title, The One With Amy :-)
David watched it with me and watched it all. That's telling as he disappeared halfway through the first episode and didn't bother with the tape of the second one. I think that they nailed it with this; nice blend of spooky and character-driven stuff and it was refreshing to have a lot of it in daylight for a change, or well-lit rooms.
I have some issues with the set-up; why is their father absent; what's he doing and how the hell can they find him when, at present, they have no clue as to where he is? And how are they zeroing in on the places where something's happening so easily, just a bit of newspaper reading and off they go? I'm prepared to suspend belief on it though. So we have the set up now and each week there's a bit less friction between them, a bit more distance between Sam and Jess' death, a bit more of Dean's loneliness and vulnerability seeping through.
I rolled my eyes just a tad now and then with Dean and the small boy because it was a bit movie of the weekish in spots, but I have a low tolerance for that kind of sentimentality.
Amy was great; did just what she should and did it well.
I found the scary to be scary and the boat flipping was enough to make me jump. Can't see why Amy in an already full bath was keeping the tap running or why she had the door locked but never mind.
Loved the end where they erupt from the water with the boy. The attempted fakeout that he was dead was lame though.
All good stuff.
