So I nip around the corner to get E from summer camp. She starts moaning the minute she gets in the car. Am driving along arguing with her when I notice flashing lights and politely pull over for the police car. Except it wants me. Eep. Seems I did a running stop at a stop sign instead of full stop, wait, look around. And I didn't bother bringing my purse as I was going about 2 minutes away and straight back so no driver's licence. Lady police woman took away the paltry scraps of ID I did have (insurance and such) and came back. We're literally in sight of my house at this point so I offered to go get ID.
She let me off!!! Two hundred dollar fine and she let me off. I ::heart:: her and will never do either again.

And I would so have taken it out of E's pocket money....
