I was toodling around ff.net as I've put two stories up these last few days. Came across a 'story' that was in fact a plea for ...well, why don't I just show it to you all?

I foolishly wrote the (only) review and said,

First, this isn't the place to post this; it's for fiction and this doesn't qualify. Try a newsgroup or forum. Second, you have so many spelling/grammar mistakes in a few short sentences that I don't see how anyone is going to take you seriously as the leader of a group of 'the best' writers. How can you judge when you can't do it yourself?

I got this email from someone - a friend? - saying,

Exactly who do you think you are??? I mean seriously if someone wants to publish and Ad, what's it to you? (yes, that's right I'm talking about S. Ortiz), and if she doesn't have a good grammar at least she has inciative (I don't have good grammar either but, guess what, I don't give a shit) And I checked your profile, Your stories suck, the only one I read more than one chapter was "Drink this" but then it also sucked, and I can't believe you make Xander/Spike fanfiction, that's just wrong, and It's not that I'm homophobic (I'm not) but It's Spike, and I don't want idiotic freaks like you picturing him slamming someone from behing, but I see MY mistake, what's it to me??? that's what you should have said when you read something you didn't like.

and as for your so called grammar, guess what, who cares!?!? there are a lot
of GREAT stories with zero grammar and the readers don't seem to worry.

No. It cannot, by definition be a good story with zero grammar. I'm going to rain on you now.
