Ow, ow, OW! Just spent two hours in the basement moving bookcases as they're going to have to rip the insulation off the walls as water got behind it. Dropped a bookcase on my toe, then the shelves slid out of another and landed on my other foot :;speechless with pain yet still able to swear::
The adjuster and the man who would deal with the repairs came yesterday; both very nice (and I was smiling as the restorer's firm is the Paul Davis group which gave me a small happy :;g::)
They said the hardwood floor would have to be replaced. And we could claim for the sofa, carpet, bookcases, and the books. Although the $1800 estimate for the books might not go through... but, hey, check for yourselves, insurers; some of those books are _rare_. And some I hadn't expected to be were, too. Adora by Bertrice Small; the edition I have (paperback) can go for $40 up :;blinks:; Took hours listing them and looking them up but in the process I saw some books I wnated to buy I didn't know had been reprinted so silver lining and all that.
