Spoilery and late but for what they're worth here are my thoughts, trivial and off the cuff because I'm too tired to be thinky; moved all the books from one side of the basement to the other today. Oh, boy.
I liked SG-1 better than SG:A this week. of course, that's like saying you like something more than the Black Death; kind of superfluous.
SG-1. Cameron at Jack's cottage ::pause to contemplate those two names and location. Gulps:; for some team bonding and relaxation :;wheeeeeee::
With Landry.
Damn, that's a waste.
And was that Jack's usual cottage because it didn't look like it. And how come Landry's been there often enough to be so chummy with the locals?
Okay, will they stop being so fricking mean to Vala? They've added her to the team _on Daniel's recommendation_ and for God's sake, even Jonas got accepted and he KILLED Daniel; Vala never did anything that bad. And she's saved their asses enough times to be granted a bit of respect. Teal'c's the only one who treats her with anything like friendship; aliens unite; you have nothing to lose but your, umm... something.
And, hey, how many deaths did they cause with that bit of tinkering? And who actually did it? Little Miss Sam, overwrite the protocols and doom an entire planet by wrecking its sun? Bit of guilt/sorrow? No?
And the monster on Earth was pathetic CGI. Sheesh.
However, all said and done, it was entertaining, and I amused myself with imagining it was Jack not Landry, with Cameron, in which case the slash possibilities were off the scale.
And how dare they surveil a cabin where Jack and Daniel make sweet, sweet love? :;is indignant::
SG:A. So much contempt. Really. As others have said; way to reuse a plot or three from SG-1 (no, it's NOT an homage; it's plain laziness) and could the ethics of the Atlantis team get murkier?
And it just happens to take 3 ZPMs to blow up the ship so they can't take one with them? How... convenient. Why did they never ask to get taught how to build them?
The betrayal, the waste, the blithe dismissal (yes, could be bravado, well, probably was, but even so there's a growing arrogance there) of the new threat... I just don't LIKE these people all that much.
And when Weir askedFive the Replicator what was wrong I nearly fell off my chair. Uh, you just blew up a ship with a lot of his family on it, including two at least who trusted you and wanted to Ascend, you faithless, lying, deceitful former negotiator, you.
