I caved, due to excruciating pain, and toddled up to the urgent care clinic yesterday. Which was all but deserted, apart from a woman and teenage daughter, the latter of which was munching Doritos beside a 'No food and drink' sign and who left chips all over the floor and her chair.

People. Sometimes I want to smack them sharply about the head.

I was in and out in 35 minutes, clutching some Amoxycillin ("I think I have a sinus infection' Doctor pushes fingers into face, Jane whimpers pitifully. "I think you might be right.") and in quest of yoghurt to stave off the, according to the chemist, inevitable thrush. Don't want that, no siree. So I got some yoghurt, all alive, alive-o, according to the label, in raspberry flavour, and it cost more than the drugs. Go figure.

Then we made the Christmas cake, the smell of which is still permeating the house. It's a tad lopsided but for once not burned, and the thick layers of marzipan and icing will even it up.

And I vidded. I took the tidied version from Ulead and shoved it back in WMM and split scened it a bit to make it manageable. Then I slapped a new audio track over it as it sounded all droned down and weird. Then I discovered just how much synchronicity I'd lost by trimming the stray frames. Then I started to delete bits and reinsert and got weird doubling of sections. Then I discovered that unless I played the whole thing from the start to where I wanted to edit (two-thirds through) the music didn't match the section. Then I wanted to hunt down Soft Cell and smack them because I couldn't stand it any longer and my family kept coming in and complaining that if they heard Tainted Love (turned down to a whisper) one more time -

I will never be enough of a perfectionist to be a good vidder, but by God, I am one stubborn bitch at times, and this vid WILL get finished and I don't care how long it takes.

And if it keeps being on beat in WMM and slightly off once I've saved it, I may well cry.

You're all going to be so glad when I finish this and stop whining, aren't you? ::g::
