We actually did stuff this weekend. What a strange feeling. Yesterday we went for tea with a couple who have a new baby and a two year old; so L had great fun playing with all his toys. The man works with David and we get on fine but to my horror, it had been two years since we'd seen them socially. How can two years go by? They live ten minutes drive away!
Today David and I got a friend with kids to babysit, got all dressed up and toddled off to the annual volunteer reception at the library. We volunteers get some nice munchies and much gratitude for our work, which made me feel guilty as I don't think I do that much, but it was nice to circulate and make polite chitchat. The library is a gallery too and has a huge collection of textile based art. One silk screened quilt was hanging in the room and it was gorgeous. David agreed which made me choke on my wine as it's rare our tastes mesh wrt to art. The library has a picture of it online but no enlargement so you can't really tell but here it is; scroll down to Epstein. http://www.gallerycambridge.on.ca/cambridge.taf?section=4
