I'm having a thoroughly idle day with an overflowing inbox and a sink of dishes.
Eh. It's my birthday; I'm totally guilt-free :-)
Yesterday everyone came over and I got mildly squiffly as we mixed up a pitcher of Pimms; no one but the English guests had had it before and I'd forgotten that it has quite a kick to it at 25% volume. I'm sure the cucumber, orange, mint, strawberries and lime we added made it a healthy beverage though, oh, yes.
My birthday cake was very different but I'm glad I was adventurous; it was baked pears suspended in a caramel mousse with roasted walnuts. Rich and light and yummy.

tinpanalley and entrenous88 for the e-cards, and enchantersnight and kellifer_fic for the virtual gifts; so kind ::hugs:: And I'm planning what to get with my book token, Bit!
David fulfilled a longstanding wish of mine and got me a picnic basket with two bottles of fizz inside. I plan a decadent, riverbank picnic when it's a little warmer (gorgeous day but we woke to FROST on the ground).
And I had Crocs, a cute keyring watch, a honeysuckle plant, a shawl, SGA S2, and something I'll treasure; my friend whose hobby is stained glass, made me a window hanging of an orange cat; just beautiful.
Thank you all for the good wishes; I feel very loved.
And full; I just went out for breakfast with some friends and you don't walk out of Fifties feeling peckish... I may just have room for the last slice of cake, though...
And I'm not sure when it is, or if I've missed it, but Happy May Birthday to the wonderfulmpoetess! Hope you did/will/are celebrating it in style :;hugs::
