quickbeam_cw, another concerned LJer, has a Fanlib ad in it that is bringing me out of my corner and looking for rotten fruit to throw at them.

I gather the Fanlib board are all male and no harm in that, although most fic writers are female, but a more blatant proof that they're not fans would be hard to find.
Yes, let's poke fun at the weedy geek against a pink background (probably gay and a Trekkie fan, don't you know?) and replace him with a manly man, all muscles, against a manly blue background.
How tasteful. How designed to appeal to the target audience.
Someone tell me this is a joke and I'm missing it?
And, wow, the forums seem full of people not that fond of slash; one of many examples:
Same here. If the character is bi/gay in cannon, it doesn't really bug me. It's when they take characters who have no evidence of being gay (Like Legolas) and make slash that I get irritated. And being criminally good looking does not make you gay
