...but I'm back. I may have missed something as I was skimming and I have fic and such bookmarked to read later, but I'm back, yes, I am.
And it was very nice.
It didn't start well; the night before I had dreadful tummy ache and ended up on the couch, moaning and trying not to cry and with a bucket as I'd come close to throwing up. Still marginally not quite right.
Then it threw it down with rain as we drove away.
Then we got there and it wasn't... quite like the photos. Hmm.
But it was nice and the girls adored the pool right outside our door. Wiarton is small and rundown but the lake is beautiful. Yesterday was hot and we walked, swam, fished, went out on paddleboats...
In the evening we went to Pat's room once the kids were in bed and watched vids; Speed the first night which had about three Sentinel plots in it (PDL from Stargate and Pet Fly are homage brothers under the skin :-)) and last night the X Files movie, with not enough Skinner in it, which left me with the urge to reread Lyrica's Mermaids Singing .
Back now, and Pat and I went up to the mall and had a manicure/pedicure. It's only my second one and I think I have the same colour as last year before the Vancouver trip, because I liked it. I feel very glam and pointed out to David that when I was walking to catch up with Pat I glanced over and a rather scrummy man was sitting on a seat and eying me up.
Which happens never and had me fighting not to trip over my number 147 shade toesies.
In a fit of weakness I picked up Jilly Cooper's latest in paperback; Wicked. She's so very Tory and not that good a writer that I swore I'd never read her again. Weak, very weak...
See how I share my deepest, darkest secrets with you, my darling f-list? ;-)
And, eee. Some of my fics and vids were nommed for the Light My Fire Awards! They might not make the final noms but I don't care; I'm so new in this fandom (just about to hit a year) that I never expected to get nominated at all and so thank you :;smooches kind people::
And I got back to some very nice feedback for Boundaries which had me smiling. I loved writing that story and the nice thing is, it's open ended and I can always go back.
But more Point of Contact first; I want to carry on with the lunch hour scene :;g::
So.... did I miss anything?
Apart from all of you, of course...
