Episodes thoughts with spoilers for the episode only.

So good to have the show back! I would have liked to have seen Elizabeth still properly in the credits, though, as well as Sam; she was very much still a big part of this episode.

Rodney calls Sheppard 'John' at 26.30 for those like me, who didn't catch it. I totally missed it, read about it in posts, then spent ages searching in the wrong place. Nice to have it done, and I think it wasn't the first time; just the first time we see/hear it. I think Rodney saves it for the moments that matter.

It's interesting when you can see both sides of the argument but Sheppard is now feeling what Elizabeth knows all about; the weight of command. It's HUGE. You have to learn to let people you care about die. Greater good. Big picture. Hard decisions. Rodney doesn't get that; he can't.

And John's not used to it much, either, for all that he's led a team, but he's trained enough to know, even in the middle of all that's going on, that he's got to smack Rodney down fast and early. Chain of command... and Rodney's a damn civilian...

I'm in a minority by the looks of it, but much though I adored the Ronon scene with the 'take it out' exchange, I had to look away for the deathbed muttered thank you to Elizabeth. Just not that well-acted or in character. Eh.

Radek rocked, yes, and I loved the realistic lack of enthusiasm on the part of the jumper pilots, poor babies. John did his best to whip them up into hero mode, though, and they got there in the end.

Could have done with less graphic medical bits; it felt like House at times. House v McKay... now there's a scary thought.

Looking forward to more.
