What's in a name?

I've been reading some episode reviews of last night's SGA and seeing a lot of versions of one name: Larrin/Larin/Laryn/Laren... why can't any of the aliens be called Jane so we know how to spell it when we only hear it?

(Except I suppose some people spell it 'Jayne'... heh).

Gateworld has it as 'Larrin'; I'll go for that, I guess.

At least it isn't Lar'n ::g::
