Going behind the cut..

I predict a fairly even split; people will love it or hate it.

Going to have to go in the hate side.

I'm just not a huge fan of 'special' episodes. The Buffy musical? Loved it to little, sparkly, shiny, shiny bits. Andrew and Storyteller, which this episode brought to mind... not so much.

This was a funny once that we had to keep on listening to for, I counted, a full 40 minutes. Nice of one of the weakest episodes to be one of the longest. There was just too long an intro before we met our guys, the joke about the amateurs v the professionals was done in the earlier episode and do not even get me started on the gay love saving the day bit. There was one moment, when Ed first stepped out of the circle to help Corbett when the episode rang true and then it got nauseatingly dire as the situation was explained to him and he went to take one for the team. With the lovely irony that he was coded as gay all along and is in denial, I suppose. Oh, whatever, show.

And even when you put the words in an idiot's mouth, I could've done without the slam at the writer's strike. Yes, I know; a writer wrote it and it was ironic and more of a dig at reality TV and, as I say, consider the source, but meh. It dates it, too and that's never a good thing.

This wasn't the episode I really wanted tonight. We have a timeline; two months left, but it didn't move Sam and Dean anywhere and they're who I watch it for. Nothing was achieved, nothing learned.

Meh.
