It's raining so grouting, not weeding is on the menu. One wall left to do (behind the oven I'm leaving for Dad. You can't see it and I'm bored of grouting. It is HARD WORK). David left at 9.30 for the pub to watch the FA Cup final (that's soccer :-) all conflicted as it's Portsmouth v Cardiff and we have strong ties to both. He tells me they don't serve beer until 11.00 but coffee will be forthcoming.

I'm enjoying the lack of deadlines for the first time since last autumn and working on my Moonridge fic. I threw in a case midway through the fic and did my usual reverse engineering of slapping a clue in the story and then working out who left it and what it means afterwards. I hear Dame Agatha rolling in her grave but it works for me.

I'm also doing a job which could seem dull but I find weirdly satisfying which is checking links for the LMFA page. I have an Excel page and a Word doc open, and I'm collating and cut and pasting and finding out better, quicker ways to do things when I'm halfway through... isn't that always the way? I love this kind of job; well, I was a civil servant for ten years; I guess it's in my blood ::g::

The Richard Burgi episode of Twice in a Lifetime last night was wonderful. He was the first name in the credits and he was on screen as much as he would've been in a TS episode, which is to say 90% of the time. We saw him as an alcoholic; teeth missing, raving and then dying and then he was back to being the gorgeous RB we know and love. He would've just finished filming TS a year or two before and you can tell he was fine with carrying an episode; he didn't falter. The show itself was new to me but there's this angelic judge and a sidekick and they give people a second chance. RB got sent back 20 years or so (the actor playing him didn't look much like him, though) and had to stop himself killing his adoptive brother in the boxing heavyweight championship fight.

I got just a teensy bit choked up at the end, I have to say.
