Went to see this yesterday as a family. Though Lauren (7) was a tad bored, the rest of us loved it.

I was braced for a few changes from the book and we got them, but not too bad as these things go.

How much do I love Edmund? He got all the best snarky lines. And Lucy and Susan spoke for me when it came to Reepicheep. Sorry, mouse, but you ARE cute :-)

They couldn't sell me on Caspian/Susan, though; not with the UST boiling away between Caspian and Peter.

In some ways the books are heaven for a movie maker; four children in the first, same four in the second, but add Caspian, drop the older two for the third but keep L, E and C and add an unsympathetic Eustace for some tension... then phase out the last of the originals and add one more character with Jill, by which point Peter and Susan's actors would be way too old. It'll be interesting to see how the audience members who haven't read the books react, though, after being used to Harry Potter's continuous use of the same core three.

I wonder if they plan to do The Last Battle... and how people will react to the infamous 'Susan likes lipstick and nylons so she doesn't get to go to heaven' twist if they do.
