This is a 2,000 word crossover fic. Why I've started writing them, I don't know. It's set in the summer after Daniel ascends, with Jack inviting an old friend to the cabin for a weekend of fishing.

On the melancholy, h/c side but how can it not be?

I've finished the Jack/Xander vid. Heh. I went with the obvious in the end when it came to music. I'm also finding once I scratch the itch to a certain extent, I want to move on, so it goes from being an all-encompassing obsession to last week's newspaper. I'm so fickle.

Had fun with this; it was amazing how many parallels I found between Jack and Xander and hopefully the idea that they could've been good, if only, comes over...

And I make no apologies for the Xander in a speedo shot, so there.

Another gen drabble...

Widening World

Teal'c is at Jack's side when they emerge onto the ramp. Jack eyes him, absently noting the way Teal'c's shoulders soften and lower, the slackened grip on his staff weapon.

Teal'c's home, or as close as he gets, and he's happy.

So's Jack. Of course. Yes. You bet.

But he's still feeling the springiness of the grass around the 'gate, fresh and untrodden, still has a lungful of crisp, clean P3X-974 air.

It's not a problem, and he doesn't feel disloyal; his home's just a little bit bigger than it used to be. And his back yard?

Goes on forever.

It's been ages since I posted a fic (but whee, the sequel to Ghost with WG is going very nicely, thank you, so I'm certainly not blocked). This is just something that came into my head, and I scribbled it down. It's set during 'Rising', on the chopper ride to the base, just 440 words.

Can't have any of them, regs being regs, but I guess those jokers don't think that matters.

Don't think my team matters to me.

Well, they do.
