I'm humming, David's coming home today, doo-da, doo-da in my head. Someone make me stop.


I did two more icons, up for grabs, as ever, and have stopped myself from doing any more. Masses to do and it's a lovely day; want to do some weeding while the earth is a little damp still.

As it's a Teal'c sort of day, I thought I'd do a drabble as well. I forget the name, but it's set in the episode where Teal'c Tells a Joke and breaks my heart, darn it.

ETA scrollgirl pointed me at Seth 3.1. Here's Teal'c's joke:

O'NEILL: Jaffa jokes? Let's hear one of them.

TEAL'C: I shall attempt to translate one, O'Neill. A serpent guard, a Horus guard and a Setesh guard meet on a neutral planet. It is a tense moment. The serpent guard's eyes glow. The Horus guard's beak glistens. The Setesh guard's nose drips.

Teal'c bursts into laughter and the others just stare at him.



Laugh, and the World Laughs With You


He laughs, opening his mouth wide, feeling his chest swell and fill, the sound of his amusement ringing out.

For a moment, he can almost believe himself back at home, surrounded by fellow warriors, his voice raised in competition with the hubbub around him, winning easily, so that people two tables away turn, and smile, and applaud him.

Because it truly is a most entertaining story.

The blinking, bemused eyes of his Tau'ri friends dry his laughter at its source.

They're so very alien. So very solemn. He composes himself as is proper, it seems, and tries to fit in.
