A while back (years) I bought a navy wooden chair from Value Village and spray painted it copper, then chalk painted it pale green.

Then about three months ago, I decided to see what was underneath and discovered about 7 different layers under the two I was responsible for.

Applied stripper and am sanding in fits and goes. I think it's maple... Never knew how many bits a chair had until I started to sand one down. Painting it? Easy peasy.

Anyway, here are some pix of the progress. Hoping to finish up soon but David and I are recovering from Covid (nabbed us after 2 years but triple jabbed and it's bearable) and I can get exhausted lying on the couch, I swear.

Awesome! I have a couple pieces i'd like to restore, but I'm just...not quite there yet, heh.

Ha, right? Kinda crazy how all that stuff adds up. I have enough pieces that it would probably be worth it - less than replacing the item - but omg, so much work (at least for me, the amateur). We shall see.
