Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] moss6886!

I hope the day is full of birthday and no room for anything but fun.

::hugs;:
This is a sort of companion piece to Reasoning, with a deliberate echoing of some of the words but a different set up as this is Blair spanking Jim and neither of them are all that happy about it (it's consensual, just angsty). It's also on the indulgent, experimental side. I love that I can do that with fic; it's very liberating to play around with structure and style in a short piece like this every once in a while.

And it's [livejournal.com profile] kaelana's fault as we were talking about Jim getting spanked yesterday and there can be only one outcome to discussions like that, which is fic :-)

No spoilers, around 500 words.

Picking your brains here... I'm writing a story set at a college in Maine (I could change the state). I checked, and Maine seems to have an age limit of 21. Would it really be difficult for two second year (sophomore) students, presumably 19-20 to buy beer in a bar?

It's hard for me to wrap my head around non-drinking students; the age limit is 18 in the UK and I was drinking in pubs from 16 (sometimes you got asked your age, but you knew where to go where you wouldn't). Is it strictly enforced, especially in college towns? Or is it fairly easy to buy as long as you don't have a real baby face?

TIA!

ETA: thanks for all the input! Wow. I'm kind of glad I grew up in the UK. I don't think I ever got asked for ID once I was past 18 (not that we had much to show; maybe a driving license...).

ETA 2 If I made them juniors, would that work? Or seniors?

Duplicate post; ignore it. I blame LJ, Fridays, allergies Pluto not being a planet.
I get an idea and I write it and that's never going to change, but I'm curious (and counting down the minutes until David's plane lands; he's been away since last Thursday in England and France; too long.) Plus; poll. Polls are cool.

ETA There is no option to say you don't like any of them. I forgot that box. I'm sure there's a deep and meaningful reason why.

Yis.

TICKY BOX TIME!
